The forklift AGV and the manual forklift are basically similar in style, and have a variety of models such as a side fork type, a forward fork type, a floor fork type, and a three-way fork type. Forklift AGV basically uses pallets to stack goods for operation, and is rapidly developing with the gradual promotion of standard pallets in the logistics industry.

1. Side forklift type: The goods are transferred from the left and right sides of the vehicle. Because the center of gravity of the forklift needs to be balanced by the car body, the car body is cumbersome, the transfer weight is limited, and the energy consumption is high and uneconomical.

2. forward forklift type: forked from the front of the car body, can adapt to a variety of pallets from the ground to the conventional height range of the shelf work. The characteristic is that there is no outrigger under the fork, and the forklift body is completely outside the shelf or the platform when working, and there is no special condition for the environment. However, due to the need for balance, the car body is cumbersome, the forks are prominent, and the safety is limited.

3. Floor-lifting forklift type: The fork is at the rear of the car body, which can be lifted up and down. When it is dropped, it is above the two legs. The fork spacing is consistent with the two gaps under the standard European-style pallet, which can enter the forklift cargo. Therefore, the transfer process must be reversed to complete. For double-sided pallets, it cannot be placed directly on the ground. It must be placed at a certain height (generally ≥100mm) to ensure that the forks and the two legs below can enter at the same time. This model is suitable for loading and unloading goods between platforms or shelves with high and low difference, especially for dense storage and handling of drive-in lanes and multi-layer shelves. The disadvantage is that there are legs under the fork, and the safety of the reversing process is limited. It is often used for automatic storage and handling of materials from various storage areas to workshops, such as automated logistics systems for auxiliary materials, raw materials and finished products.

4. Three-way forklift type: This kind of AGV fork can automatically load and unload pallet goods in three directions: left, right and front. Adapt to a variety of standard pallets, suitable for multi-layer shelves in the roadway or storage and unloading occasions with large height difference. The disadvantage is that the model is bulky and wide, the driving area occupies more space, the effective utilization rate of the working site is low, and the AGV structure is complicated and the cost is high.
