In the automatic handling process, the AGV trolley receives commands from the base master computer through the communication system and reports its status, while the master computer issues tasks to the AGV and collects information sent back by the AGV to monitor the working status of the AGV. The following monitoring can be done via the on-board computer: manual control, safety device activation, battery status, steering limits, brake release, walking lights, drive and steering motor control and charging contactors.

The on-board computer equipped with AGV is realized by PLC controller or single-chip microcomputer in hardware. It is the direct control center for AGV robot driving and working. The main functions are:

Accept the commands and tasks issued by the main control computer, report the status of the AGV car to the main control computer, such as the position, running speed, direction, fault status of the AGV, etc.; automatically run to the destination loading and unloading station according to the accepted tasks and running routes, In this process, the selection of the running route, the selection of the running speed, the automatic unloading of the goods, the avoidance of the trolley in the running direction, and the safety alarm are automatically completed.

The intelligent AGV trolley has programming capabilities to perform tasks in a free or fixed path. When Hao Sheng AGV needs to interface with other devices in the system, it also needs to be equipped with automatic material loading and unloading and positioning mechanism, and its positioning accuracy is controlled by the main control computer.

Generally, the AGV trolley communicates with the base master computer through radio communication, or through the wires buried on the line, or through the infrared laser, thereby achieving collision avoidance scheduling, working state detection, and task scheduling between the AGV robots. The fixed path AGV uses a communication cable buried in the ground slot or a fixed position infrared device to communicate, and the free path AGV mostly uses radio communication.

Since there is interference in the use of radio communication in an industrial environment, communication is performed at a frequency of ultra high frequency (300 to 3000 Hz) or higher, so that noise interference is reduced. Increase the power of the radio system to improve both signal-to-noise ratio and interference. In addition, improved radio software, such as information compression, adoption of information frame structures or through information verification, communication protocols, and communication management, can improve the reliability of radio communications.
