The AGV has to work independently to solve the three problems of positioning (where), planning path (where to go), and navigation (how to go), solving these three problems, and basically solving the problem of AGV free walking.

AGV navigation method      Advantages Disadvantages
Electromagnetic navigation The principle of electromagnetic navigation is simple, easy to control communication, and low in cost. 1. Change and expand the path to re-lay the wire.
2. The guiding line is difficult to lay.
 
Magnetic strip navigation Magnetic stripe navigation is accurate and low cost. 1. The magnetic strip is easily damaged and needs regular maintenance.
2. The path change needs to re-lay the tape.
3. It is not possible to intelligently avoid or change tasks in real time.
 
Two-dimensional code navigation Accurate positioning, small and flexible, easy to control communication. 1. The route needs regular maintenance. If the site is complex, you need to change the QR code frequently.
2. There are certain requirements for the smoothness of the site.
3. The accuracy and service life of the gyroscope are strict.
4. The price is higher.
 
 

The advantages and limitations of these positioning navigation methods are very obvious. The flexible positioning navigation and positioning scheme uses two-dimensional codes, reflectors, etc., and also needs to manually preset certain features to be positioned.
